UPCOMING HAPPENINGS:
Shofar Blowing Workshop
. Are you post bar/bat mitzvah interested in blowing the shofar during the High Holy Days? If so, join board member April Glatt for a one-hour workshop from 5-6 PM on Sunday September 4 in the PTS chapel. She will review all you need to know about shofar blowing. When the workshop concludes, you can sign up to play at one of the services during High Holy Days s at the end of September and early October. You must attend this workshop to be eligible to blow the shofar at one of our High Holy Day services. Contact Noah Cohen, Religious Practices Chair, at noah@familycohen to RSVP and if you have any questions.

High Holiday Torah Readers. Noah Cohen, Religious Practices Chair, is looking for post bar/bat mitzvah people to accept aliyahs for reading or chanting Torah during the upcoming High Holy Days. The services needed are Thursday, September 29 for Rosh Hashanah, and Saturday, October 8 for Yom Kippur. On both holidays, Torah readers are needed in the Chapel for family services (6 readers) and in the Sanctuary for traditional services (3 readers). All told, we need 18 Torah readers. You will read 3 lines of Torah, which you may either recite or chant. Noah will get you everything you need. Contact Noah Cohen, Religious Practices Chair, at noah@familycohen, to let him know which service you are interested in doing an aliyah. Reciting and chanting Torah is a mitzvah, and PTS could use your help this Fall.
