Personal Growth, Public Service

An important part of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah experience is doing a mitzvah.

PTS encourages each student to take on a long-term project which gives the student an opportunity to show his/her personal commitment to being a partner with God in the repair of the world.

Projects should be selected by the student and should involve his/her own time, effort and imagination, while touching the lives of others. Attached is a sample list of projects ideas and organizations that may be of interest.

Students are also welcome to call the Temple office or Religious School office for volunteer opportunities at PTS. Students are encouraged to speak to the clergy, Director of Education and the chairpersons of our Social Action and Gemilut Chasadim Committees for further ideas.
