Smart Board New School Education Tool

Religious School Report, November 2009, by Eran Vaisben

The New Year at PTS Religious School has started with many new and exciting events and activities.

This year, our students will join 25 million other students around the word and 95 other religious schools in America through the addition of a Smart Board as a new educational tool.

This interactive instructional tool will be integrated into the Religious School curriculum. Our teachers are in the process of learning how to use the Smart Board, and will begin to incorporate its use in their lesson plans.

Our students will use this tool to help them learn more about Israel geography, Jewish history and holidays, and improve their Hebrew reading skills. The Smart Board was very graciously granted to our school by the Legacy Heritage Foundation.

One of our main goals is to create a sense of community among our students and families, and enhance the social aspect of our Religious School. During the weekend of October 16th and 17th a few dozens 4th and 5th graders enjoyed their annual Shabbaton at 'Camp Arroyo' in Livermore. Together, they experienced a Shabbat filled with fun activities, both educational and recreational.

I wish you all a wonderful and meaningful Thanksgiving.
