As I write these words, I am reminiscing about six beautiful days in Israel where I was attended and celebrated Noah Rosenfield's Bar Mitzvah with him and his family. The Bar Mitzvah took place in a 2,000-year-old Synagogue in an enchanted Northern Israel area known as Bar-Am. Summer is the time that many people plan time away from work, school, or home. They travel to far away places such as summer camp or just explore our beautiful Bay Area and all that it has to offer. When you are here at home, you can be sure that PTS is alive with activity!
Our B'nai Mitzvah classes continue through the summer as well as our Shabbat morning discussion group (which meets on Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m. to study the portion of the week). Temple programs such as Home And Hope and our many chavurahs meet for fun and fellowship or to attend worship services. We now have a program that has helped many who are considering new career paths. This group is affiliated with other synagogue groups in the Bay Area. If you are interested, please contact Linda Korth at email@example.com.
Would you like to learn Shabbat prayers and melodies in a fun and new way? Some of my students have been using a unique learning tool with great success, called the Magic Yad. For some time now, thanks to my friend and teacher Alan Warshaw, I have been involved with this exciting project. Alan is one of the developers of this amazing Magic Yad system. This week I learned from him that it is now available for the iPad. If you are interested or just curious about it, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Temple office.
Thanks to all listeners and supporters of our KZSU (90.1 FM) radio show called "Jazz Iz," which has been assigned a regular time slot every Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. We will be presenting three special shows on Jewish music. Times and dates will be posted in an upcoming edition of the PTS Bulletin.
As always, visit the PTS website or continue to read our Bulletin to learn more about the many get togethers and other opportunities at PTS. See you in shul!
